How to Kill Mold and Mildew With Vinegar
- 1). Fill a spray bottle with distilled white vinegar.
- 2). Spray the hard surface liberally with the white vinegar.
- 3). Allow the vinegar to sit on the hard surface for 15 minutes.
- 4). Wipe the vinegar, mold and mildew with a clean sponge.
- 5). Repeat this process until all mold and mildew is removed.
- 1). Set your washing machine to the hottest water setting allowed for your specific fabric.
- 2). Allow the drum to begin to fill with water. While the drum is filling with water, add the appropriate amount of laundry detergent and 2 cups of distilled white vinegar to the washer.
- 3). Submerge the washable items into the water and shut the washer's lid.
- 4). Allow the washing machine to complete its full cycle. Remove the washable items from the washing machine and air dry.
- 1). Pour 1 pint of warm water into a bucket. Add 3 tbsp. of distilled white vinegar and 1/4 cup of powdered laundry detergent.
- 2). Mix the contents with a whisk. The mixture will begin to develop suds or foam.
- 3). Dip a soft-bristled brush into the suds. Scrub the mold and mildew with the brush in a circular motion.
- 4). Continue scrubbing until you have removed all mold and mildew.
- 5). Rinse the carpet by blotting with a damp cloth. Allow the carpet to dry completely.
