How to Clean Yellowed Dishes
- 1). Rinse any food particles from the surface of the yellowed dishes. Scrub them with a sponge or plastic food scraper, if necessary, until all particles are removed.
- 2). Fill your clean sink with equal parts bottled distilled water and white vinegar. The bottled distilled water is used because it contains no elements that could cause yellow stains. The amounts required depend on the amount and size of the yellowed dishes. Use enough of both liquids to fully submerge all of your dishes.
- 3). Sprinkle baking soda over the yellow portions of the dishes. A thin layer of baking soda over the spots is sufficient.
- 4). Soak the dishes for approximately 30 minutes. The baking soda and white vinegar combination should eliminate the yellow stains on your dishes.
- 5). Scrub the dishes with a soft-bristled brush or sponge while they are still submerged. Rinse them thoroughly with the bottled distilled water, then dry with a soft cloth to prevent any stubborn spots that are remaining.
