How to Remove a HPQWMIEX.Error
- 1). Locate the file HPQWMIEX.exe on your hard drive. It is typically located in a "Program Files" subfolder. After finding it, attempt to delete the file by selecting it and pressing "Delete." A window will appear stating it is write-protected or that another program is using the file and it cannot be removed. If this occurs, continue through the next steps. If not, you can stop here because the file has been removed.
- 2). Download the "Unlocker" software. (See Resources.) "Unlocker" removes the locks that keep the file closed, and enables the file to be manipulated or removed. Once downloaded, open the download icon and proceed through the installation wizard until the software has completed its setup.
- 3). Right-click the HPQWMIEX.exe file. A pop-up window will appear. From the pull-down menu choose "Unlocker." A window will load that displays all the locks present on the file. Choose "Unlock All" and then "Quit" to close the window.
- 4). Reselect the file and hit "Delete." You will be prompted to check if you're sure you want to remove the file. Click "Yes." The HPQWMIEX.exe file will now be removed.
