How to Remove the Clear Coat on a Jeep
- 1). Fill a bucket with warm water and car soap. Wash the Jeep's rims with a lint-free cloth. Rinse the area with clean water and dry it with a second, lint-free cloth.
- 2). Pour some clear coat remover gel onto a paintbrush and apply it to the Jeep's rims. Dab it around the surface of the rims until they are covered.
- 3). Let the clear coat remover gel sit for a while as it works to lift the clear coat off of the surface of the rims.
- 4). Rinse the clear coat remover gel off of the rims with a hose. Dry them with a third, lint-free cloth. Look for remaining areas of clear coat and repeat as necessary until the entire surface of the Jeep's rims have been stripped.
