    • 1). Thoroughly wash the face of the cinder block with soap and water. Use the sponge and scrub brush to remove any stubborn grime or stains.

    • 2). Wait for the cinder block to dry completely.

    • 3). Apply a single coat of primer to the cinder block surface. The primer helps ensure a good bond between the latex paint and the block.

    • 4). Wait for the primer to dry completely.

    • 5). Mix the latex paint, then apply the first coat to the cinder blocks. Do not worry if the primer color shows through the first coat; just concentrate on getting the paint to a uniform texture. Subsequent coats fill in the color.

    • 6). Wait for the first coat to dry, then add additional coats as necessary until the cinder blocks are the desired color.
