How to Share a Scanner in Vista
- 1). Click "Start" and then "Devices and Printers." The list of devices connected to the computer is displayed.
- 2). Right-click on the scanner and then select "Properties" from the drop-down list.
- 3). Click the "Sharing" tab and then click the "Advanced Sharing" button.
- 4). Click the "Share this Folder" check box.
- 5). Type a name for the scanner in the "Share Name" field in the Settings box.
- 6). Click the up or down arrows in the "Limit the Number of Simultaneous Users to" box to restrict the number of users that can simultaneously access the scanner. On Vista you are allowed to have a maximum of 10 simultaneous users.
- 7). Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the settings.
