How to Draw a Rose With a Stem
- 1). Draw a U shape lightly with a pencil, turning the ends of the lines outward. This will look like an upside-down bell.
- 2). Make a curved line toward the inside, from the end of one side of your bell shape, and connect it to the center point of the curved part of the U shape. This is your first rose petal.
- 3). Draw a line from the center of the curved line you just made, to the top of the other end of the original bell shape line. This line should have a slight curve. Try not to make any of your lines straight.
- 4). Connect the top 2 lines of the bell shape with one slightly curved line, upward. You now have the start of a beautiful rose. Creating the appearance of more flower petals is as simple as drawing a few very small wavy lines in the top center section. Using a red marker, draw over your pencil sketch to give your rose some color.
- 5). Make a double straight line with your pencil, starting from the bottom of the U shape and extending down about 6 inches. This is the stem of your rose. Using a green marker, color over your pencil sketch to give the stem color. You can also add a green leaf to the side of your stem for added character.
