    Welcome Banner

    • 1). Decide what you want the banner to say. Choose a personalized message such as "Welcome Home Daddy," "Welcome Students" or Welcome Baby Joe" for the banner.

    • 2). Choose photos that will be significant to your message. If you are making a banner for new students, you could choose pictures that show different things that the students will do throughout the year. Each letter will use one photo.

    • 3). Print 8-by-10-inch photos on plain office paper.

    • 4). Choose letter stencils that will spell out your message.

    • 5). Trace the stencils onto the printed photographs.

    • 6). Cut out the letters.

    • 7). Glue the letters on the construction paper.

    • 8). Punch a hole in the top corner of each sheet of construction paper. Punch the holes 1 inch from the top and 1 inch from the sides of the paper.

    • 9). Thread the yarn through the holes of each letter sheet, spelling out your message.

Hang the banner. Space the letter sheets evenly on the yarn, but double the width of the space between any words.
