How to Wash Off Pepper Spray
- 1). Wash with whole milk. Capsicum oil is an acid. To neutralize the acid, apply a base. Whole milk (a base) works best because it does not irritate skin and is readily available.
- 2). Fill the spray bottle with whole milk and spray the areas of the body affected by the pepper spray. Let it sit until the severe burning subsides.
- 3). Apply more whole milk. Once the severe burning subsides, saturate a few clean towels with the milk and lay them over the areas of your body affected by the pepper spray. Leave the towels on until the moderate burning subsides.
- 4). Break up the oil, using Dawn brand dish detergent. Fill a large bowl with cool water and dish detergent using three parts water, one part detergent. Saturate clean towels with the solution and lay them over the affected areas of your body until the burning subsides.
