How to Install Windows XP X 64
- 1). Open your CD drive and place your Windows XP x64 installation CD disk into the drive tray. Close the drive and restart your computer. Wait for the setup program to inspect your computer's configurations and hardware.
- 2). Press the "Enter" button on your keyboard when you see the blue screw for Windows setup.
- 3). Press the "F8" key when you see the License Agreement screen after you have scrolled through and read it.
- 4). Press the "Enter" key to install Windows XP x64 to your unpartitioned space.
- 5). Use your arrow keys to choose a format in the next screen. Microsoft recommends the NTFS format. Press the "Enter" key when you have made your choice. This formats your hard drive.
- 6). Press the "Enter" key when you see the screen to restart your computer. This screen appears after the setup program formats your hard drive and copies files.
- 7). Allow the setup program to bypass the Windows XP x64 install disk in your CD drive. Your screen will tell you to press any key to boot from the CD; don't press anything.
- 8). Choose the appropriate options from the Installation Wizard windows that appear, like language and region, text options and a file name. When you are finished with the customization windows, you will see the Product Key window. Enter the 25-character product key located in the Windows XP x64 packaging; it's usually on a sticker on the inside of the CD case. Click "Next" when you are finished.
- 9). Choose the appropriate time and date settings from the next window and then click "Next." Wait while Windows XP x64 continues installing and then press the "Enter" key to restart your computer again. Let the setup program bypass the CD again.

Click "OK" from the Display Settings pop up window. Click "OK" from the Monitor Settings window. Wait while the changes are applied and the Welcome screen appears. You have finished installing Windows XP x64 and you can now remove the installation CD from the drive.
