How to Get Rid of Plastic Pails
- 1). Wash out your recyclable plastic pails with warm water and mild dish soap to remove any residue from what was previously stored in them.
- 2). Allow the pails to dry completely on a drying rack, or hand dry them with a towel.
- 3). Place the pails into your recycling bin for regular pick-up.
- 1). Reuse food-grade plastic pails to give friends or family some homemade baked goods. To do this, wash containers thoroughly with warm water and mild dish soap. Allow them to dry.
- 2). Bake gourmet bread or homemade cookies for your friends or family and allow them to cool.
- 3). Place wax paper into the bottom of the pail, and place the cooled baked goods inside. Place a layer of wax paper between each layer of baked goods if you want to add multiple layers to a single pail.
- 1). Gather all of your unwanted pails and wash and dry them.
- 2). Place all of the pails into a storage bin, bag or box. If you are placing them in a cardboard box, put them in bags first so that they do not collect cardboard dust.
- 3). Take the pails to a local school for science projects, a homeless shelter or soup kitchen for food storage, or a daycare center for craft material storage. Chances are, someone in your community can reuse the pails.
