    • 1). Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop. You will see your computer's main hard drive on the new window.

    • 2). Right-click the hard drive. Scroll down the menu and click "Properties."

    • 3). Click the "General" tab and click "Disk Cleanup." Place a check on the following categories: Downloaded program files, Temporary Internet files, Temporary files, Recycle bin, Offline web pages.

    • 4). Click "OK" and click "Yes." Click "OK" again to clean up the hard drive of your Windows 98 operating system. Move to the next step to uninstall applications from your Windows 98 operating system.

    • 5). Right-click your hard drive again from the "My Computer" window and click "Properties."

    • 6). Click the "General" tab and click "Disk Cleanup." Click "More Options" and click "Cleanup" under installed programs.

    • 7). Click the program you want to uninstall from your computer and click "Add/Remove." Follow the guided prompts to uninstall the program. To uninstall any other programs and clean your hard drive, follow the same steps.
