    • 1). Check the label for instructions on how to launder the comforter. If it says "Dry Clean Only" you should take the item to be properly cleaned. Your dry cleaner will launder the comforter and remove any wrinkles safely.

    • 2). Place the comforter on your bed and allow it to lay flat overnight. Some of the wrinkles will smooth out once the comforter is unrolled or unfolded.

    • 3). Remove the cover if possible, and wash according to label instructions. Wash delicate comforters without using the agitator by filling the tub, allowing the comforter to soak for 10 minutes before switching to the rinse and spin cycle.

    • 4). Shake the comforter vigorously before placing it in the dryer on low heat or laying it flat to dry.

    • 5). Stop the dryer occasionally during the cycle, pull the comforter out and fluff it. Arrange it so that any sections that are still wet face outwards, allowing the entire garment to dry smoothly.

    • 6). Remove the comforter from the dryer as soon as it is mostly dry, lay it flat and shape the fill into place with your fingers.

    • 7). Iron the comforter while it is still damp, using a low heat setting. Iron from the back side of any embroidered or delicate sections.
