How to Become an Entrepreneur in 3 Easy Steps
Most people feel that security is working for someone else, getting medical benefits and a salary and the mere thought of hustling for each paycheck, not being guaranteed anything is just terrifying.
I believe that the only security in this world is your own personal ability to adapt.
Think about that statement.
It is not in skill, smarts, or working for someone else.
I know plenty of people that have great skills or ideas but never take action to put those ideas in motion.
I also know people that either work for or used to work for big corporations.
There is absolutely no security in working for someone else, even working for the government as I have recently read cases where even government employees were being downsized.
A great example is look at Bear-Stearns.
This was the fourth largest bank in the world, an 85 year old establishment that had survived two world wars and the depression that was toast in no time.
14,000 employees had rested their security in the hands of this company just to have their job erased from the books in a weeks time.
Now, step number one in how to become an entrepreneur is to understand that you can be your own boss, work your own hours, and succeed big time IF you follow your passion.
An entrepreneur is someone who sees a need and fills that need for a profit.
Find what you are passionate about, and its typically not as simple as making money.
If you knew that whatever business you started would make you a million dollars, which business would you start? This should help you with locating your passion.
Step number two is take the passion you discovered and analyze what competition is out there and what they do not do that you feel may be needed.
You want to come out of the gate with a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) that separates you from everyone else.
Step number three is become a master marketer.
You can do this by reading books by Dan Kennedy and Jay Conrad Levinson among many others.
A master marketer can make almost any business work whereas someone with great skills but no marketing ability will have a hard time at almost any business.
Now, this does not mean that you could not find a great marketing partner but I believe the best entrepreneurs also know the game of marketing.
