Recording a Synth Piano

    • 1). Attach one end of the MIDI cable to one of the MIDI inputs on the back of your soundcard and the other end to the back of your synth piano. The soundcard should already be connected to your computer through USB or Firewire.

    • 2). Open your audio editing application. Create a new track by selecting "File" and then select "New" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3). Set your audio editing program to accept MIDI keyboard inputs. Open the "Preferences" or similar option under the "File" menu. Click on "Devices" and select your souncard as the input.

    • 4). Press "Record" on your audio editing application and begin playing your synth. The program will record everything you play. Press "Stop" when you are done.
