How to Make a Wooden Frame With Beveled Edges
- 1). Secure two stop boards on the edge of the table's surface with clamps or by screwing the boards down. Place the framing wood against the stop boards to prevent the frame wood from shifting while creating the beveled notch.
- 2). Place the chamfer or bevel bit into the hand-held router. The size of the bit depends on how much of a bevel you want to create in the wood. Insert the bit entirely into the chamber, then pull it out 1/8 inches.
- 3). Turn on the router to 28,000 revolutions per minute if creating a bevel with a 2-inch bit. Create the first cut by pulling the router toward you for the most control of the equipment.
- 4). Make a second pass over the same cut, make it deeper without burning into the wood. Perform the third and final pass at the desired depth for the beveled design.
