How to Build Wooden Panels for a Room Divider
- 1). Determine the measurements for each panel of the room divider based on your coverage needs. A typical paneled room divider consists of three separate segments of equal size that you can fold up when it's not in use.
- 2). Draw the outline of a panel onto a piece of plywood. Use a piece of wood such as a 1-by-4 or a long straightedge for help in creating straight lines.
- 3). Place the plywood on two sawhorses. Hold it in place with “C” clamps for security. Cut out the panels with a circular saw, using the lines for guidance.
- 4). Smooth the edges of the plywood with a sanding attachment placed on a drill.
- 5). Paint each panel in your color choice. Use one color for the whole thing, make each panel a different color for variety or paint a mural in each panel for an artistic appearance.
