How to Host a Murder Mystery Book Club
- 1). Choose the book or books you want to read and discuss. Determine if you want your guests to come in book-themed costumes or as particular characters in the novel.
- 2). Plan a themed menu for the dinner or lunch meeting of your book club. A themed menu related to the novel you're reading can enhance the discussion and fellowship at the meeting. For example at a meeting that discusses "Gods in Alabama," you could serve fried chicken, hush puppies and pecan pie.
- 3). Plan an activity to follow the meal and discussion of the book. Options include watching the movie version of the book (if there is one) or a documentary related to the subject matter. You can also play a murder mystery party game such as "Death by Chocolate."
- 4). Prepare everything ahead of time so you can enjoy the meeting. Receive your guests on the appointed night with good cheer and enthusiasm.
