Napkin or Mail Holder

• Open a medium-to-large sized envelope and place it against the bottom left corner of a cereal box. Trace the envelope and use this tracing to guide you in cutting the envelope shape into the box. Repeat on the opposite side of the box, making sure to leave the bottom flap of the box intact. Decorate the box as you wish, using paints, stickers, glitter, and the like. Allow the paint to dry, then fill the box with napkins or use it as a mail holder.
  
  

Magazine or Paper File

• Angle a ruler from the top right corner of a cereal box to about 1/4 of the way down the left side of the cereal box. Draw a line marking the edge, then draw a matching line along the other side of the box. Connect the two lines then cut along the traced line to remove the top portion of the box. Decorate the box with paint, pictures or wrapping paper, and fill with magazines or papers.
  
  

Sandals

• Trace a pair of your shoes onto the front and back of a cereal box and cut the shoe prints out. Measure the circumference of your foot and create straps for the shoe that are the appropriate length and about 1 to 1.5 inches thick by cutting strips out of the remaining cereal box. Tape the ends of the straps to the bottoms of the cut-out shoes and decorate them however you wish. Note that these shoes are not meant for regular use, and are rather just a fun accessory.
  
  

Tote

• Cut the flaps off the top of a cereal box. On each side of the box, about 1 inch from the opening of the box, draw an oval the measures 4-by-1-inch. Cut the two ovals out. These ovals make the tote bag's handles. Decorate the box by painting it or by creating a collage on the surface. After the paint or glue has dried, fold a crease into each side of the box, which will allow you to taper the top and more easily hold the handles together as you carry around your unique tote bag.
