Infant

• The Mommy & Me program provides Rocky Point, New York, mothers with a variety of activities for children in its baby playgroup. This group is designed to create a bonding experience between mother and child. Utilizing music and sound, the baby playgroup enhances the child's sensory experiences. Once a baby is 4 to 5 months old, she is eligible for participation in the baby playgroup. The baby playgroup is available for children between the ages of 12 and 14 months.

Toddler

• More advanced than the baby playgroup, the Mommy & Me toddler group focuses on communication, socialization and listening skills. Children and mothers encourage activity and creativity through the use of music and arts and crafts. The hour-and-a-half long course also engages toddlers to cultivate their imaginations through free time. During this time, the children learn to share, employ creativity, and establish roles and boundaries.
  
  

Pre-K

• For the older child, Rocky Point's Mommy & Me program includes a separation class. This hour-and-a-half long session gives the mother the option to leave the child during the class as preparation for longer preschool or kindergarten programs. The class is a stepping stone for the child and focuses on more advanced learning. The separation class fosters independence within the child as he must be apart from his mother and develop relationships with other classmates and the teacher.
