How to Refurbish Cork Flooring
- 1). Sand the old varnish off the floor, taking care not to damage the cork underneath.
- 2). Vacuum the dust and dirt off the floor. It is important to remove the dust or the varnish will not dry smoothly.
- 3). Apply a layer of varnish. Allow the varnish to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions. When that layer is dry, add another layer. Your floor should look shiny and new.
- 4). Wait 24 hours before you step on the floor. Then, allow the floor to cure for an additional week before allowing heavy traffic on the floor.
- 5). Wait two weeks before you clean the floor.
