Vinyl Lanyard Braiding Instructions
- 1). Tie together on one end three pieces of various colored lanyard, each 12 or more inches.
- 2). Take one strand (strand A) and cross it over another strand (strand B), then cross the third strand (strand C) over strand A, then B over C and continue moving on in that order until you reach the end, making your braid as long as desired. Keep the braid as tight as possible.
- 3). Tie a knot at the end of the braid, keeping 2 inches of slack at the end of the knot. If the lanyard is for a key chain, you can put the key chain ring in between the strands and secure it with another knot.
- 1). Cut two pieces of different color lanyard at least 3 to 4 feet long. Lay them across each other to form a cross or an X so all sides are equal length. The two colors are going to be called strand A and strand B.
- 2). Attach the safety pin or hook to the center of the cross or X and then fold one side of strand A over strand B to form a loop and repeat on the other side so you have two loops side by side.
- 3). Take one side of strand B and weave it through one side of strand A and repeat with the other side, pulling it tight so it does not come loose. It should form a small box of interwoven colors when complete.
- 4). Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the lanyard is of desired length. Tie the ends together in a knot. If desired, remove the safety pin at the other end and replace with a key chain ring or other item of choice.
