    • 1). Use the blue marker to put a layer of color on the paper.

    • 2). Cover the blue with a thin glaze of yellow. The resulting color will be a shade of green. Using more blue than yellow will give you a blue-green. Usiing more yellow than blue produces a yellow-green.

    • 3). Lighten the original green by adding a thin glaze of white until you get the light green you want. If you don't have white, begin by applying very thin layers of blue and yellow so the white of the paper will lighten the green.

    • 4). Darken the original green by adding a thin glaze of black. The black will dull the green down, though. You can darken the green without using black by applying a thin glaze of red. Adjust the amount of red to achieve the color you want. A yellow-green glazed with red will create a green more on the brownish side. A blue-green glazed with red will give you more of a gray-green.

    • 5). Experiment with the colors in various layers and glazes to get the green you are looking for.
