Comments from Jennifer Kyrnin: My new policy is not to include any designs that do not list the editor used or comments on the design. These are both required fields in the form and are what help other designers make decisions. BUT, this design is interesting because it is a non-English site and I wanted to reference a couple of things.
1. The use of flags to represent languages is not recommended by the W3C - for instance, many people speak other languages than English in the U.S. and there are other countries that speak English as well. The flag implies that only U.S. citizens should use that link. 2. When I switched to English, the majority of the page stayed in cyrillic characters. Such that I wasn't really sure that anything had happened at first. Yes, all the navigation had changed, but since navigation is fairly easy to figure out, I didn't notice it. Make sure there's a value to changing the language - after all, in order to read the books, you have to read the language. 3. The width on this page is strange - whenever I reloaded, it got larger than my window size. That was annoying.
