How to Adjust the Trunk Latch on a 2005 Thunderbird
- 1). Park the Thunderbird on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
- 2). Open the trunk and locate the trunk latch on the underside of the trunk lid. Locate the four screws securing the latch.
- 3). Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws. At this point you can move the latch, adjust the latch control cable, or fix the latch if it is stuck. If the latch is stuck, you can use a slotted screwdriver to pry off the latch. To be properly adjusted, the latch must be centered into its indentation. Move the latch so that the locking cable will not stick and reinstall the screws.
- 4). Close the trunk.
