How to Install Trailer Lights on a 2006 Ford Freestyle
- 1). Turn the engine off and open the hood of the vehicle. Disconnect the battery by using a socket wrench to remove the negative terminal cable.
- 2). Uninstall the screws from the rear left-side rear bumper cover using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 3). Lift up the rear bumper cover to reveal the wiring electrical harness. Remove the cover from the harness with a flat-head screwdriver.
- 4). Plug the lights electrical connector into the harness, making sure that both pieces click into place. The clicking noise indicates that the connector has locked into position.
- 5). Reattach the rear bumper cover and the screws. Reconnect the negative terminal cable on the battery and close the hood. Test the lights. If they are malfunctioning, check that the connection is secure.
