How to Customize a Photo Backdrop
- 1). Put on the gloves and follow the instructions to mix your dye. Mix it in the trashcan with the liner inside of it. Select gray for a standard, neutral backdrop or customize it however you like. You can even mix colors. Do this outside or in a work area in case of spills.
- 2). Place the material in the dye. For a flat-colored background, agitate regularly for full and even distribution of the dye. Use a stick to stir the material. For a mottled, uneven look, agitate occasionally. You can grab the material and scrunch it up randomly to create a more irregular color.
- 3). Remove the material from the dye, rinse it and then wash it in the washing machine to remove excess dye. Line-dry for less shrinkage.
- 4). Attach the backdrop to the wall using push pins. To further customize for particular elements like landscape or bold design elements, paint designs directly onto the backdrop with fabric paint.
