Most panic attack sufferers have ugly memories of their attacks which is why they would strive hard to find ways to prevent panic attacks.
Some sufferers are scared that the attacks that they were feeling are already signs of an even worse heart attack.
This tends to be felt by the sufferer especially when some symptoms of panic attacks are similar to those of heart attack.
Here are tips on how to prevent panic attacks.
1.
Steer clear of the triggers.
When you have had attacks before, you surely would have known the situations that would trigger an attack.
If you want to avoid another attack, you should also steer clear of the triggers that you have identified.
Avoid thinking so much about them to avoid feeling the first tingling sensation of fear that will lead to uncontrollable fears which would also lead to an attack.
2.
Develop deep breathing patterns.
The moment that you can feel fear settling in, you should immediately start breathing deeply.
Even during normal conditions, you should develop deep breathing patterns so calming down would be easier to do.
3.
Control your mind.
With the start of anxiety, focus your mind on something that will not trigger an attack.
Practice this for when you can master this, you can control yourself more.
4.
Stop thinking about the attack.
The more you anticipate an attack and the trouble and fear that it brings, the more exposed and prone you will be to it.
Thus, stop thinking about it and think happy thoughts.
