Equipment

• Gather the equipment needed to complete the task. You will need a thumbtack, a T6 Torx screwdriver (available at hardware stores), a guitar pick and a replacement faceplate. Since you will be working with small screws, you may want to keep a magnet handy to hold the screws until it is time to replace them.
  
  

Changing the Faceplate

• To change the faceplate, first remove the rubber screw covers located on the inside of the flip phone directly underneath the phone's screen. The small size of the screw covers makes it difficult to remove them with your fingers alone. Instead remove them by gently prying them out with a thumbtack or safety pin and then set them aside.
  
  Use the T6 Torx screwdriver to remove the revealed screws, then set the screws aside. The LG L1400 faceplate is held onto the cell phone by six clips around the edges. Use a guitar pick to work your way around the edges of the old faceplate until the clips separate.
  
  Line the top left corner of the phone up with the top left corner of the new faceplate, then snap into place. Run your fingers along the edges of the phone to ensure that all six clips snap together properly. Replace the screws, taking care not to overtighten them, which could damage the phone housing.
  
  Replace the rubber screw covers to complete the faceplate installation.
