    • 1). Burn the same file again using a different blank DVD-R. One-off errors that occur during the burning process can often cause issues, such as doubled screen or misaligned audio and video. Simply insert a new blank DVD-R into your DVD burner and burn the exact same content using the exact same software. Play the DVD in a DVD player to check if the picture has improved.

    • 2). Burn different content to a blank DVD-R using the same DVD burning software. Having ruled out an intermittent error during the burning process as the cause of the problem, the next step is to determine if the content itself that you are trying to burn may be causing the double screen. Convert other content to a burnable DVD format using the same software as before. Burn to a new blank DVD. Just as before, play the DVD to check to see if this resolved the problem.

    • 3). Download and install a different DVD conversion and/or burning software (see Resources). At this point, the most likely culprit is the software that you are using to convert and burn the content, since this software is responsible for aligning the picture and converting all audio and video data to a format that is burnable to a blank DVD. If the new software still experiences the same issue, you will most likely need to try a different brand of DVD, or have your DVD burner serviced.
