1. Who were the original hosts of The Talk?


When the show premiered on Oct. 18, 2010, the hosts included Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete. The new show would last a year before encountering controversy and a cast shake-up.

In late summer 2011, Remini and Robinson Peete were asked to leave The Talk. Remini tweeted her departure and mentioned that she was given no reason as to why her contract wasn't renewed.

The second season opened with guest hosts Kris Jenner and Molly Shannon filling in for the departed Remini and Robinson Peete until new hosts Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler joined the cast.More »


2. On what show did host Sara Gilbert star?


Sit-com fans will remember Gilbert as the younger daughter on ABC’s Roseanne. She played Darlene Connor from the day the show debuted in 1988 until its season finale in 1997. Producers even taped Sara’s segments for the sit-com at a studio in New York while she was attending Yale.

Her co-star and the show’s lead, Roseanne Barr, hosted The Roseanne Show after her sit-com ended. The talk show ran for two seasons on CBS in the late 1990s. Roseanne fans love her, though, and loved the show. A fan page lives on Facebook, where you can see clips and talk about the long since canceled program. 3. Speaking of celebrity connections, who is Gilbert’s famous sister?


Fans of a certain age will remember Gilbert’s sister, Melissa Gilbert, from her years playing Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Praire in the 1970s. Others might know Melissa best from her stint on Dancing with the Stars in 2012. Melissa famously suffered a concussion during training, but returned to continue the competition. Osbourne became famous to American audiences in 2002, when MTV began airing the reality show The Osbournes, chronically the daily life Osbourne, her famous husband, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, and the rest of the rock 'n' roll family. The smash hit lead to more television appearances and opportunities. In 2003, she launched her own talk show, The Sharon Osbourne Show. Aisha Tyler made a splash as Ross Gellar’s girlfriend on the hit NBC sit-com Friends. And while most contend it was notable because the show displayed a healthy mixed race relationship, most feel it was the show’s first real attempt at expanded the cast’s diversity, something it was often criticized for.
