How to Make a Room Smell Sweet
- 1). Pour clean and cool water into a spray bottle. Add 10 to 15 drops of your preferred essential oil such as lavender, citrus or vanilla. Spray the mixture into the air to make your home smell sweet.
- 2). Pour 2 cups of water into an aluminum cooking pot. Remove the peels from two to three lemons and oranges and place them into the water. Simmer the water and add more water as needed to keep your home smelling fresh.
- 3). Place four to five cinnamon sticks or a handful of whole cloves into a cooking pot full of water. Simmer the cinnamon or cloves on the stove top for 30 minutes.
- 4). Sprinkle 1 to 2 tsp. of ground spices such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg or cloves onto a cookie sheet. Place the cookie sheet in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Leave the oven door cracked and bake the spices for 30 minutes to fill your home with a pleasant scent.
- 5). Remove a light bulb from its socket. Drop one to two drops of vanilla extract onto the bulb. Replace the bulb. Turn the light on and the light bulb will cause the room to smell sweet.
- 6). Cover the carpet with baking soda to absorb bad smells. Let the baking soda sit on the carpet for one to two hours. Soak a cotton ball in a sweet cologne or perfume and place it into the vacuum cleaner bag. Vacuum the floor to remove the baking soda and fill the room with the scent.
