How to Cite a TV Show in AP
- 1). Start with the writer's name, followed by the director's name separated by a comma and an "&" symbol if you're citing a single episode. Put the person's job title in parenthesis. If you're citing an entire series, you should start with the producer's name. Names should be written with the surname first followed by the last name. For example, if the name is Tom Smith, it should be written Smith, Tom. Put a period after the names.
- 2). Put the date of publication in parenthesis followed by a period.
- 3). Write the name of the show's episode followed by "Television series episode" in brackets. Put a period after the brackets. If you're only citing a series, you can write the show's title in italics or quotation marks followed by "Television series" in brackets followed by a period.
- 4). Type the name of the producer with the first name, followed by the surname if you are citing a specific episode. After the name, write "producer" in parenthesis, followed by the show's name in italics or quotation marks and a period.
- 5). Conclude the citation with the city of production, the state acronym and the production studio. Put a period at the end of the citation. If the citation is longer than one line, you should indent each line after the first.
