How to Safely Remove Personal Antivirus
Not only does it install itself on your PC, but it has no features to remove it from your system.
This is obviously a big problem, but one which is easily solved if you know this simple method.
In order to remove Personal Antivirus, you just need to be able to do 2 things.
These 2 steps are what all uninstallation facilities do when they uninstall a program - you first need to delete any program files on your PC and then you need to remove any registry keys on your computer as well.
This will first remove all the functionality the program has, meaning that it's going to not be able to run..
..
and then removing the registry keys will make Windows 'forget' about it, completing the removal process.
This is how computer technicians remove programs from their PCs, and is also how many uninstall facilities do it.
These facilities which come with programs are just automated ways of doing this method.
To manually remove all traces of Personal Antivirus from your PC, you first need to remove its program files.
You can get to these by browsing to C:/PROGRAM FILES/Personal Antivirus, selecting the folder and pressing SHIFT + DELETE to remove the whole thing from your PC.
This will not only stop the program from working, but it will make sure it won't come back, as pressing shift + delete will permanently remove the files, not just send them to the recycle bin.
After you've done that, you then need to "cut" the program out of Windows, by removing the registry keys it has.
This is done by opening a program called REGEDIT.
EXE (from C:/Windows) and then clicking CTRL+F to search for Personal Antivirus.
When you see all the registry keys pop up, you should then delete them all, making Windows unable to process any more data about the program.
