Kentucky’s State Board of Education provides resources for online, television and correspondence courses for students in high school, college and post-graduate education. These programs can help people in remote areas learn a foreign language, earn a bachelor’s degree, or advance their careers. They are also convenient for working adults who cannot attend courses on a regular basis. Aside from degree granting programs, continuing education credits and various certifications for professionals are available. - This program is available to high school students throughout the state. The courses can be completed at the student’s convenience, with the permission of the local school. Courses include traditional curricula as well as AP courses, electives and foreign languages that may not be taught in the local school districts. There are extra fees for the courses, between $165 and $330 as of 2010, depending on the course type. The school districts may also open these courses to homeschooled students, but they must receive permission before registering.

The school offers three standalone bachelor's degrees in sociology, interdisciplinary studies and family and consumer sciences, as well as three degrees meant for students who have graduated from technical schools. In addition to their undergraduate programs, a wide variety of master's degree programs are available, including majors in education, criminology and business administration.

Their full degree programs online are in library and information science and rehabilitation counseling. While the course material for these programs is delivered via video and digital documents, they may require students to be on campus two to four times throughout the duration of the courses. Other degree programs are available that combine online materials and courses at remote locations, including engineering, social work and music instruction.
