    • 1). Determine a location for your film projector. If mounting on a bookshelf or table, ensure 6 inches in every direction for airflow and cable running. If mounting to the ceiling, use the hardware to attach the mount to your projector, and drill the mount into ceiling studs with the 1-inch anchor screws for a sturdy hold.

    • 2). Plug in the film projector and turn in on. A no signal screen should appear, allowing you to size the projector lens to fit the screens length and width, as well as center it. The lens can typically be twisted to make the screen bigger and smaller, while a knob is used to move the lens left, right, up and down.

    • 3). Make the video connections from your components to the film projector. Run the wires to the designated video ports, and turn each component on to ensure the projector displays a picture. With a picture on screen, adjust the focus of the lens by twisting the outside cap. Adjust until the picture is as clear and sharp as possible.

    • 4). Run a video with which you are familiar. While watching the video, observe the projector's picture and notice any differences in color, hue, sharpness, brightness or contrast. Using the film projector's menus, make adjustments as needed until the picture reflects your personal preference.

    • 5). To ensure a professional picture quality for your film projector, run a video calibration disk. Follow the on-screen instructions and adjust the menu options as requested. When finished, run your favorite movie and enjoy the results.
