How to Clean the Carburetor on a Craftsman Mower
- 1). Squeeze the clamp on the end of the hose coming from the Craftsman mower gas tank and attaching to the side of the carburetor. Slide the clamp down the hose so you can easily pull the hose off the carburetor nozzle.
- 2). Unscrew the bolt on the base of the carburetor with the proper-sized wrench. Take the bolt out and pull off the carburetor fuel bowl.
- 3). Push the carburetor float down and spray the area above the float with carburetor cleaner spray. Wipe the float off with a rag.
- 4). Spray the fuel bowl with carburetor cleaner and wipe it out with a rag.
- 5). Spray carburetor cleaner into the bowl, above the float and into the nozzle where the fuel hose was connected. Reattach the fuel bowl to the base of the carburetor. Push the fuel hose back onto the side carburetor intake nozzle. Squeeze and slide the clamp back over the hose to secure it on the nozzle.
