Are you a regular at the coffee shop? How much do you really know about what goes in the coffee shop? Sure, probably because you're there all the time, you've already noticed that they employ single cup coffeemakers (e.
g.
the Keurig B70 and the Senseo Supreme 7832) since they usually just brew as it's ordered.
But hey, there are other interesting things that go on inside the coffee shop that you'd be amazed about.
Several baristas reveal some secrets on what really goes on in the coffee shop.
Here are seven of those: #1: Size Doesn't Matter Obviously, when you see a bigger cup, you would think that you're getting more coffee.
This isn't actually not always the case.
Usually, the shot or amount of caffeine is just the same, the bigger cup just has more milk.
#2: Making an Espresso is an Art Most baristas are very proud to be masters of the art of making an espresso.
Ideally, the shot should take 18 to 22 seconds before pulling.
In today's top coffee shops, if the shot isn't perfect, they don't serve it.
#3: Baristas Go to School Yes, no one can just show up and say "I want to work as a barista" without showing some certification.
Baristas actually go to school to learn everything about coffee.
Now there is really no question why they're called the pros at it! #4: Quality Latte Art = Quality Coffee You'll know if it's a good latte if the art on it is intricate and cleanly made.
If the heart design (or smiley design) in the latte holds, it simply means that foam's consistency is pretty good and the shot was done perfectly.
#5: Not Every Shop Really Sells the Real Thing Truth be told, not every coffee joint out there really sell what they advertise.
A perfect example would be selling branded products; not every shop actually uses the actual brand but then its customers just don't notice it.
#6: Customers are the Reason for Long Lines No, it's not true that it is management's fault if the place has a long line of waiting customers.
The truth is, customers are actually the reason why there are long lines in the first place.
People who talk on the phone or chit chat with others are the major causes of delay.
It's because when their turn to order comes, it will still take them a couple of seconds to end their current conversation and some more time to decide what to order.
#7: No, Nicotine isn't why Coffee is Addictive A lot of people are self-confessed coffeeholics.
But why the addiction? No, it's not true that caffeinated beverages have amounts of nicotine; that's an urban legend.
The addiction is simply driven by the body's craving for that "extra push".
These are just seven of the many other things that goes on in a coffee shop every day.
Needless to say, using single serve coffeemakers isn't that much of a secret anymore since these things can obviously be seen by every customer.
