Fashion Trend of the Month for November 2013 - Holiday Fashion
December's the month most of us will be looking for something to wear to holiday parties and family gatherings, so holiday fashion is our Trend of the Month for December 2013. Lace dresses have been a big trend this season, and they're festive for holiday dressing.
An easy way to dress for the holidays is to wear a little black dress with at least one elaborate accessory if the dress is simple, or if it's already lacey and sparkly (as is the Tadashi Shoji dress pictured above at left), keep the accessories simple.
Last year in December 2012, I focused on black and gold as a good combo to wear for the holidays, and it still works this year, so you might be able to wear the same black and gold ensemble for holiday parties as last year. The only problem in wearing the same ensemble from a year ago is that we're very likely to run into the same people, and they may even notice and comment on it. This happened to me years ago, and, frankly, I was surprised that the woman, a co-worker, even remembered what I'd worn to the office Christmas party the previous year, let alone thought that she needed to mention it! Oh, well...

Tips for Wearing Holiday Fashion.
- Wear a little black dress if you're in a quandary. It can simplify your fashion life.
- Wear a lace dress for the holidays.
- Wear sleek pumps in black or a skin-tone hue.
- Wear a glitzy top with knee-high boots and skinny jeans.
- Wear at least one showy or statement piece of jewelry.
- Carry a small evening clutch, but make sure it's at least big enough for the necessities.
- Avoid dresses fabricated of allover sequins. A dress with a sequinned top or just a separate sequin top paired with jeans or a skirt usually works better.
