Beauty For Less - How to Look Like a Million Bucks During a Recession

To be beautiful, you don't have to spend on expensive beauty products and go to the beauty salon all the time, especially in times of crisis.
A lot of the ingredients in expensive beauty products advertised and sold in department stores are actually available in your own home or at least are easily and cheaply available in your local drugstore or supermarket.
Below are some excellent beauty saving tips.
Beauty products from the kitchen You may have noticed that a lot of the advertised beauty products espouse "natural" ingredients mostly from fruits and herbs.
A lot of these products also have vitamins and minerals, typically vitamins A, C, and E.
All of these ingredients are already available in your own kitchen! But without the preservatives and chemicals that commercially available products contain.
You can simply store natural home-made products inside your chiller.
Beauty experts always tell us there are three essential procedures for a beautiful face: wash, tone, and moisturize.
For a facial wash, you can mix milk, honey, and oatmeal and store it in a bottle.
Honey has natural anti-bacterial properties to prevent pimples; milk makes the skin smooth and diminishes blemishes; and oatmeal helps remove dead skin cells and clear clogged pores.
For a toner, you can use lemon juice or orange juice diluted with water.
If you can take the smell, apple cider vinegar is very good for the skin.
It also has anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties.
For a moisturizer, milk and mashed peaches work wonders.
For tired eyes, the tried and tested cold cucumber works magic.
To tighten the pores of your skin, egg whites or an ice cube will do the trick (wash the ice cube with water first to make it non-sticky).
Besides facial products, the kitchen offers endless beauty remedies.
One essential ingredient is baking soda for brushing the teeth and making it sparkly white again.
You can also use baking soda to freshen your shoes, or use ½ cup for the bath and freshen your body, sloughing off dead skin cells.
Drug store cosmetics Most top-of-the-line makeup and cosmetic products have a counterpart in the drugstore.
The only major difference is that top-of-the-line products are heavily advertised and endorsed by celebrities.
If you know how to pick and use them, no one will know the difference.
The important things too look out for is any allergic reaction, how long the product stays or how fast they wear off (when it comes to makeup products), and if the product actually works or does the trick.
Go to an upscale beauty department store and get your face done by a makeup or beauty specialist in landau scrubs.
Take note of the products, the shades and the way they are applied; if you look gorgeous, go to the drugstore and buy the counterpart of the expensive cosmetics.
Buy small sizes instead of economy sizes so that it won't be a big waste if you end up being allergic to a product or if you change your mind.
Also, when it comes to cosmetics, it is easy to get tired of a look so chances are when you're done with a set, you'll be looking for a different one.
