How to Remove Super Glue From Cotton Clothing
- 1). Select an acetone-based nail polish remover from a local drugstore or supermarket. Not all brands of nail polish removers contain acetone, but it is the chemical solvent required for dissolving the glue.
- 2). Ventilate your workspace to help with circulation. Dampen a cotton ball with acetone in order to apply it to the super glue stain.
- 3). Dab the affected areas of your clothing with the cotton ball. Acetone tends to evaporate rather quickly so do not hesitate to apply enough solvent to wet the adhesive.
- 4). Gently scrub the super glue with a toothbrush until it begins to come off. Repeat this method with the underside of the clothing in order to loosen the adhesive from the base.
- 5). Scrape the remainder of the glue with a dull blade if necessary. Properly dispose of the dried glue remainders and launder the cotton clothing for a thorough cleaning.
