How to Lock Cells in OpenOffice
- 1). Hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and click the cells you do not want to lock. They will highlight with a blue color.
- 2). Click the "Format" menu then click "Cells."
- 3). Navigate to the "Cell Protection" tab.
- 4). Remove the check box next to the "Protected" option and click "OK." This indicates that these cells will not become locked when you protect the sheet.
- 5). Click the "Tools" menu, click "Protect Document" and select "Sheet."
- 6). Type a password for the protected sheet twice then click "OK." All cells on the sheet will become locked except for the cells that you indicated earlier.
