How to Stop Honda Thieves
- 1). Lock the doors and roll up the windows on your Honda at all times. A large percentage of car thefts result from unlocked doors.
- 2). Park only in safe, well-lit and populated areas at night. Thieves try to stay undetected, so a parking spot such as this will make it more difficult for them. If you have a garage, always use it.
- 3). Keep anything of value in your Honda out of sight. Either take your valuables inside with you or put them in your trunk to avoid a thief's detection.
- 4). Invest in a car security alarm. These range in price and features and can be a huge deterrent against thieves.
- 5). Cover the locking mechanism of car's your door locks with protection plates. These plates surround the cylinder lock area of a car door between the handle and door metal and will prevent a thief from using a slim jim or coat hanger to jimmy the lock. Protection plates can be found online and installed by a mechanic.
- 6). Use your emergency brake and park with your wheels turned to the side. This can make it harder for a thief to tow your car.
