How to Become a Christian Evangelist
- 1). Go about doing good. Evangelists should look for good things to do as they embark on their daily activities. Good deeds are an essential tool of evangelism because they provide an opportunity to share the love of Christ. Evangelists should let other people know that they care about them, and a great way to do this is through good deeds.
- 2). Talk to people such as friends, family members, acquaintances and anyone else willing to listen. The Christian Courier states that it can be difficult to talk to someone about spiritual things. However, the more an evangelist spreads the gospel, the more comfortable he'll likely become.
- 3). Avoid arguments and strife. Evangelists should never be focused on trying to win an argument. Christian evangelists should avoid arguments and focus on explaining the gospel in a loving and gentle manner. Conversations that become combative are contradictory to the purpose of evangelism.
- 4). Contribute to other evangelistic works and organizations. Christians can practice evangelism by helping other evangelists. It isn't uncommon for Christians to give to their local church and other ministries who spread the gospel. Contributing to philanthropic organizations, churches and missionaries can widen an evangelist's reach.
- 5). Stay connected with other believers. According to Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, the Christian community is a powerful evangelistic tool. A Christian community can keep evangelists encouraged and inspired. A good community can also help evangelists grow emotionally and spiritually.
- 6). Attend meetings that focus on Christian spiritual growth. It helps to attend conferences, prayer meetings, and other Bible-based events. This can help the evangelist spiritually mature. Additionally, these types of meetings help a person learn more about their faith, the Bible, Christianity and God. The more the evangelist knows, the better equipped she is to share their knowledge with other people.
