    • 1). Put on your safety glasses and leather work gloves.

    • 2). Lay the aluminum diamond plate flat on top of the worktable and slide the section where you need to cut over the edge of the worktable.

    • 3). Secure the aluminum diamond plate to the worktable buy clamping it in place with the two pairs of self-locking C-clamps. Place a pair of C-clamps at each side of the aluminum diamond plate, where the side of the plate and the edge of the worktable meet.

    • 4). Insert the 14 TPI Sawzall blade into the Sawzall. Refer to the Sawzall operating manual to determine the procedure for securing the blade to the head of the Sawzall.

    • 5). Place the edge of the Sawzall blade onto the aluminum diamond plate, tilt the back of the Sawzall down and press the trigger of the Sawzall to start cutting the aluminum plate.

    • 6). Slowly cut across the aluminum diamond plate, ensuring that the back of the Sawzall remains tilted toward the aluminum diamond plate. Do not stand the Sawzall vertical, as you will not be able to control the Sawzall blade and the cut will not be straight.

    • 7). Support the piece of aluminum plate overhanging the edge of the worktable with one hand as you come to the far side of the cut.

    • 8). Attach the four-inch diameter flapper wheel to the four-inch grinder.

    • 9). Run the grinder along the cut edge of the aluminum diamond plate to remove the burr left by the Sawzall blade.
