    • 1). Restart your computer in "Safe mode with Networking" by depressing the "F8" keyboard key multiple times during the reboot process. You will have two menu options appear; select the "Safe Mode with Networking" option.

    • 2). Turn off system restore by selecting your "Start Menu," then right-click the "My Computer" icon. On the resulting menu that appears, select the "System Restore" option and select the check box that is beside "Turn Off System Restore..."

    • 3). Right-click your anti-virus program icon and select "Update Virus Definitions" to ensure your virus program is up-to-date.

    • 4). Run a complete virus scan of your computer. Wimad has been released since 2005 and will be detected by current anti-virus software.

    • 5). Select the "Clean infected files" option when the virus scan is complete.

    • 6). Reboot your computer and repeat steps 1-5 to ensure all copies of the Wimad Trojan have been removed.
