How to Wash a Dyson Filter
- 1). Remove the filtration component out of the vacuum. The location will vary depending on the model you own, however, all Dyson vacuums have a picture of the filter on the outside of the part.
The filtration component holds the filter, which consists of two parts: a hard plastic housing with a mesh filter and a sponge. - 2). Twist the hard filter housing out of the filtration component and lift to remove.
- 3). Lift the sponge filter out of the hard filter housing.
- 4). Rinse the sponge and the hard filter housing under cold water. Squeeze the sponge thoroughly. Rub the mesh filter from the hard filter housing with a finger, to remove hairs and large pieces of debris. Tap the hard filter housing against the sink to remove excess liquid.
- 5). Place the components flat in a warm, dry area, such as a windowsill. Let them dry for at least 12 hours before reassembling.
