    Needed Items

    • Some basic materials are needed to make chocolate kiss rosebuds. Candy kisses are available in a variety of colors, including special colors for holidays. You will also need several pieces of tinted plastic wrap, either food or craft type; tape in an assortment of colors, though green is more often than not used; and two-sided tape or glue. You will also need the stems and leaves of fake flowers, or florist wire, cut into 12-inch pieces from a craft or flower department.

    Making the Rosebud

    • The buds can be made with any combination of colors by using a sparse amount of glue or the two-sided tape to attach the flat bottoms. Green-wrapped holiday kisses are an authentic-looking bottom to a rosebud of any color. Custom kisses can be ordered with either solid colors or a picture. When the two kisses are connected, place the tip of the top kiss center on a piece of plastic and stretch the plastic tightly over the kisses, gathering it at the tip of the bottom kiss. Any excess plastic can be folded up before applying the stem to create nice-looking foliage.

    Display Ideas

    • Individual flowers can be handed out at the ceremony or at each place setting for the reception with personalized cards attached with the names of the newlyweds and the date of the marriage. A dozen roses can be gathered together in vases or other containers with Styrofoam at the bottom and additional plastic foliage showing around the rim. The bride only throws one bouquet, but mock bouquets can be arranged and given to the female guests so no one will feel left out.
