How to Make Flash Powder
- 1). Spray down your working space, and inside any plastic bags you will use, in order to neutralize their surfaces. Anti-static spray can be either bought or made with one part fabric softener and 9 parts water.
- 2). Measure out your chemicals, separately: 3 parts aluminum powder for every 7 parts potassium perchlorate. Make only as much flash powder as you expect to use. You should not leave any left over, because trying to store it for prolonged periods can be quite dangerous.
- 3). Place both chemicals into the neutralized bag. Seal the bag.
- 4). Shake well, until evenly mixed.
