How Do I Screenshot With GIMP?
- 1). Arrange the elements on the screen the way you would like for them to appear on the screenshot image. During this time, you should ensure also you close any items you do not need captured.
- 2). Press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard, which is usually located next to the "F12" function key. This action takes a snapshot of Windows Explorer, and sends it to the clipboard.
- 3). Click "Start." Type "GIMP" in "Search," and press "Enter" to open the application.
- 4). Click "Edit," and select "Paste." This transfers the screenshot in GIMP. Alternatively, you can also paste the screenshot by consecutively pressing the "Ctrl" and "V" keys.
- 5). Click "File," and select "Save" when you are ready to save your file. This opens the Save Image dialog.
- 6). Enter the desired name of your screenshot in the "Name" field, then click the "Save" button. By default, your saved picture is located in the "Pictures" folder. Access the Pictures folder by clicking "Start," then "Pictures."
